If you received an email from me, it is usually intentional and relevant. I can make mistakes because I am human, but usually not about who I email, so if you think it is a mistake, please have a second thought.
How I usually work by email
- If your role suggests you should know, I may expect a concrete answer.
- If you are not sure, a direct “I don’t know” is better than no reply.
- If I ask multiple questions, especially in bullet points or numbered lists, I usually expect answers to each point, and not only the easy ones.
- Direct communication is welcome. You do not need to soften your message.
- LLM-assisted emails are fine for me, as long as the expected content is present and clear.
Responsibility and follow-up
If I email someone, there is usually a clear responsibility to do something. Trying to avoid the task (no answer, bouncing it back without action, or deflecting) usually only delays the same outcome. I follow up consistently until it is resolved, so it is usually faster and easier for everyone to handle it directly.
